Welcome to the Häxor Coven.
NEW 2020 ALBUM "THE RITUAL" OUT NOW!
Finally! The HäXoR Coven is proud to announce the July 16, 2020 dropping of our slamming new album, The Ritual. It is available for Name Your Price on the Bandcamp platform: FREE DOWNLOAD HERE . The other popular streaming platforms will be on offer within the week following initial release.
The Ritual is the second full album release from HÄXOR, Edmonton Canada’s genre-defying Stoner Metal trio. After the successful launch of 2018’s self-titled debut, the band is back with a more aggressive and metallic sound, while still offering up the same uniquely HÄXOR blend of old-school Doom, NWOBHM, Thrash, and Fuzz Rock hooks that defined their earlier release. The opening track, Queen of the Sky, is a thundering piece of Stoner Metal, perhaps suggestive of influences like Dio, Trouble, and Clutch. On the title track, The Ritual, as well as the pirate inspired Black Sails, Häxor infuses elements of first wave Thrash Metal and Slayer-esque downturns into the mix.
Murder Tree is a 7 minute opus that mates a murder ballad in the lyrical style of Johnny Cash or Nick Cave with a Sabbath inspired doom hook that is all tied together with a blistering psychedelic Blues Metal jam that draws the curtains closed.
Chugging, monster riffs lead off both Groove Hammer, and Nine Skulls of Suffering, and along with the rocker Sasquatch Bloody Sasquatch, deliver typical examples of Häxor’s driving, grooving, and head-banging variety of Stoner Metal.
